Münchner Volkstheater

Information:
In the same way that Bavarian director Christian Stückl reformed the famous Oberammergau Passion Play in 2000, he also rode in on a wind of change when he took over the Münchner Volkstheater (Munich Folk Theater) in 2002. Since then, Stückl has gathered an ensemble of young talents presenting a vibrant mix of plays. His establishment of the festival Radikal Jung (Radically Young), which features the works of aspiring directors, has become an important platform for artists to establish themselves in the German theater scene. Despite these novelties, Stückl has also stayed true to his and the theater’s roots by presenting Bavarian plays on a regular basis.
